Dr. Schwartz is amazing, I was walking without any aids 10 days post op from knee replacement; 6 weeks I had 100% straight leg and 128% bend from 130% prosthesis . Quality care. Staff is kind and helpful.
1st issue is the receptionist, acts like it's a burden to call in and schedule an appointment, same thing when you check in, seems like she hates her job.
Dr Swartz has done 2 of my surgeries and a surgery on my niece's knee. My first experience was a torn ligament in my ankle and he repaired it over 20 yrs ago. Then I tore my biceps tendon in my shoulder and he was the only one I could trust. Now here I am again needing knee replacement surgery and he's my choice. And always will be.
5th issue - never took the time to show me my MRI or X-Rays to explain what's going on
Wow should definitely look into hiring a more personable staff, called in to schedule and appointment and they seemed very inconvenienced by request. The individuals attitude drove me to look elsewhere.
Overall awful experience with Schartz, I recommend Fort Worth orthopedic all day everyday!
Oops except for the nurse at Schwartz's office! She was pleasant and helpful, she recommended me to Fort Worth Ortho bc shwartz's was booked and couldn't get me into surgery for a whole month.
4th issue - office is run down and beat up, no new technology to aid in reviewing results
3rd issue is he must only work on elderly patients, after I got my MRI he told it's a torn meniscus ( what I told him from online research up front ) that's not my biggest issue it's the fact the he told me it's NON - REPAIRABLE, thank god I got a second opinion at Fort Worth Orthopaedic, their staff was a delight and got me straight in and expedited surgery because the sooner you get into surgery the better odds of having it repaired are.
Dr. Schwartz is a very nice man. He listened to my questions and accommodated our concerns. Very knowledgeable, and explained the surgery on my son's arm and why it needed pins. He just put me at ease. I felt like he was taking me seriously. Not all surgeons will take the time to talk to you like he did.
2nd issue is after informing them of what all was going on with my knee there should have been no doubt a MRI was needed. So wasted a co-pay for a visit just to have them say, oh ya we really can't tell you anything unless you get an MRI, so go get one and come back.... why not save me $40 and get it one before I come in?
Schwartz seems like he's lost his passion for practice and not upto speed in new processes and surgeries
