The story starts out at car toys, where I took my 2007 hummer in for a car stereo system and alarm. I had some problems and took it back to them a few times which they seemed very helpful and warrantied it every time without complaint, the final time though they seemed to put me to the back burner and kept my truck almost a month.
I call in one last time saying it’s going to have to be done soon, he replies with these Optima batteries are shot I need two more and I’ll get you running. I then deliver two more at a cost of 1200 dollars total just for batteries now.
A couple days later he informs me that my alarm is shot, and I may not be able to have one installed? This is something new to me so I begin researching the Viper alarm that I had in my hummer, I’m told that there should be do draw and that its under warranty. Eric states that I can use a Python alarm which he sells there and everything will work. This is at an added cost of 1000 dollars. Its been close to a year so I say yes let’s get it buttoned up and back to me.
Dropped my hummer off the following Monday along with two new Optima batteries one for the front one for the rear. This is where the problem starts, seems he had some internal problems with staff and couldn’t get to it in the ten days allotted, said he needed it longer.
Great, these guys know how to do Rhino linings. This is my second one. After 10 years sold truck and the bed was in great shape after heavy use. The only problem is my wife thinks the bed is pretty and makes me be careful not to hurt it.
Again, days-weeks go by no contact and I call and get a very polite person on the phone stating that Eric has broken his phone and cannot get back to me, I find this very odd as I’m a business owner and have broken phones before without neglecting clients. The polite kid on the phone says he can fix my cameras the following Monday for me so I head right out first thing Monday. He has me waiting in the lobby for five hours and cannot fix them, I then demand to speak to Eric the owner and am informed that he cannot even get ahold of him? I am told though that the kid had left a message with Eric’s wife (also sometimes receptionist at the store) and that Eric would call me that evening.
Meh. The original aftermarket tint I had done in Fort Worth was quicker, cheaper and better. I received this as gift for Christmas. I made an appointment. Dropped my car off, only to have them call 6 hours later to tell me they wouldn't be finishing the car. Then they called me back to say they would be finishing the tint, but they needed more time. They left my car dirty.
I recently had my windows tinted and even though I was warned not to, I completely forgot and rolled down my driver side window. Set up another appointment to get it fixed and much to my surprise, they completely re-tinted my window at no charge. And, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. My overall experience was very pleasant and would recommend Unlimited Tinting to anyone who wants to stay cool in the Texas heat.
And You guessed it, no call, no explanation. Still…
Fast forward and still having the problems which was a battery drain I stop by Unlimited tinting in Weatherford after being referred by a close friend that had work done there. I met with Eric the owner and explained my problem which he stated to be no problem at all fixing. He said ten days in the shop max no more than 1000 dollars and it would be good as new. I then made sure he looked at the wiring so as to not have any surprises at time of consult.
The following day he calls and says it has a zero amp draw now with the key off and is ready to be picked up. My total owed is 2000 dollars.
I pick my hummer up and am just glad to get it back, as soon as I’m home I notice that neither one of the two back up cameras are working. I call in and couldn’t get ahold of Eric. Then after two days my batteries are dead and won’t start the truck. I immediately call Eric and he assures me that he will get with his alarm representative and let me know what’s going on.
I’m now 1200$ in batteries, 1000$ alarm and 100$ labor into this with the exact same problems I had a year ago before meeting Eric.
This is by far the worst I’ve been treated by ANY car stereo shop and mind you I’ve been to car toys…
These guys give reliable and timely service. I got a stereo, running board, and bedliner there. Couldn't be more happy.
I kept checking on it and eventually just checked in once a month or so, always same story, it’s now getting to be almost seven months and my uncles boat has been in there for a full stereo system and gone already?
